Ronny Byrd is the founding pastor of Palmetto Shores Church. He is married to Gail (36 years) and they are parents of two children: McKenzie recently graduated from Charleston Southern University where she earned a BA in Communications and was a cheerleader. She has committed to a 2 year staff ministry position with Campus Outreach and will be serving on the campus of the College of Charleston. Morgan is a sophomore at Coastal Carolina University where he plays football and is majoring in Communications. Ronny received his Bachelors Degree from Furman University and his Masters Degree from Southwestern Seminary. Ronny has served in pastoral ministry positions in Greenville, SC; Elbert, Texas; Oakway, SC; Greenwood, SC; and three churches in Myrtle Beach. Ronny has a passion for preaching understandable messages that help all people, especially those who are seeking and hurting, discover the wonderful love Jesus has for them. Ronny loves running and exercising, sports activities with his family, eating healthy food and playing golf with friends.

Jill Rohler has worked tirelessly for more than 17 years teaching our youngest citizens and says her favorite part of her life's vocation is watching a child have that "ah ha!" moment.  "I love the moment they 'get it' and count it a true blessing to be involved in a child's academic and spiritual growth."  Jill earned her certification in early child care and will graduate this year with a degree in early childhood educations.  When asked how much longer she thought she might stay in the preschool arena, Jill said, "I believe one of my spiritual gifts is teaching.  If you are called to do something, it doesn't make sense to just walk away."  Jill moved to Myrtle Beach years ago from her birthplace of Akron, Ohio.  At the same time she was meeting the needs of area children she was raising three of her own - Nate -30, Sarah - 28, and Chelsey - 25.  One of Jill's classmates recently commented that 'Jill brings a calmness and her own brand of magic to teaching that makes us all want to be children again.'  Jill will tell you, "I enjoy being with kids more than most grown-ups most days."

JOAN GOFF, Interim Children’s Ministry Leader

Joan Goff, a native of Conway, SC, has been doing children’s ministry for over 20 years. Her passion to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in an interesting and exciting way is evident in her work. She is a successful mother of three biological children, as well as a successful spiritual mother to countless others. She has worked in various churches around the area. She has also taught 1st and 2nd grade at Carolina Bays Academy. Her creativity makes her stand out from the rest of the crowd. Anyone who knows her knows her passion, her desire to serve, and her relentless love for Jesus Christ. One child summed up her life beautifully by simply stating, “Ms. Joan knows God."

I was blessed to be a part of Palmetto Shores Church from its inception. Through my time of attendance and fellowship here, I knew I had found a church that I could really call home. God has added to my blessing by giving me the opportunity to serve as the church ministry assistant since April 2010. The opportunity to serve not only our members, but to reach out to the community has given me joy beyond compare. I am so grateful to be a part of God's plan to share His word and His Love here. As I share with you, I learn about Him. What greater blessing could I have.

As Palmetto Shores Church's new Ministry Coordinator, I look forward to working with the existing ministries. I am also ready to assist in creating new ministries within our church family. My desire is to assist and encourage people to become involved in areas that truly touch their hearts and branch out into our community to spread the Word of God to provide help where it is needed. I have been married for twenty-eight years and have two wonderful children who are grown and on their own. My intention is to devote my time to our church and building ministries that will make Palmetto Shores Church the church where all works take place.
